Crinan Defence Fleet: Escorts

When I first went escort shopping, the GW staff guy said there was no option other than the Cobra class escort.

I bought a couple of packs of those and a couple of Sword class escorts, and have to admit that although I'm a Imperial Navy player, I'm not a big fan of torpedos - and usually opt for Swords.

However, recently, I came across a bfg tactica which recommended not taking escorts at all: which rang a bell for me - as they're so vulnerable.  I don't know - I don't like giving the enemy easy kills and I feel bad about losing all those men in the vacuum of space.

I have many more escorts painted and will try and get pictures up soon.

Defence Monitor patrolling in low-orbit.

Slow, unmanouverable and powerful, defence monitors are the tug boats of the bfg world, and also one of its best kept secrets.  With armour 5, 2 shields, 2 turrets and weapon batteries of 8, a couple of these can put out the same as a Retribution class battleship
